These are all common problems that often result in tears and pain for both confused dogs and frustrated owners. Citronella is completely safe and harmless - when your dog misbehaves, a little mist is sprayed and it annoys the dog enough to have him stop, but it wont hurt him. Just annoy him. There are several training aids avaiable, and they all focus around citronella collars.
Anti Bark citronella collars automatically trigger a short spray when the dog barks - for the dog who barks when you’re not around. If you want more control, you can also get citronella collars that you decide when the spray will go off. These are much better when you work with a dog that you want to control very specific behavior like stealing, or chewing.

When the dog gets too close to the boundary, A warning sound is given off from a transmitter as the dog approaches the area covered by the transmitter. Then, if he ignores this a spray is triggered from his citronella collar. Eventually the dog will hear the sound, and the sound is enough to deter him because he thinks that the spray is coming.
I must mention here that Citronella Collars have nothing to do with ’shock’ collars. I’m sure most dog owners would prefer a happy well-adjusted and well behaved dog, trained safely and without pain.
